I-95 South Accident Today: Crash in Volusia County Causes Lane Closures and Traffic Delays

A traffic crash on Interstate 95 South in Volusia County caused significant delays for motorists Tuesday morning after the collision partially blocked multiple lanes, prompting a response from emergency and highway service crews.

According to traffic officials, the crash occurred on the southbound side of I-95, with the affected area stretching from before mile marker 276 to before mile marker 274. The incident resulted in partial lane closures as responders worked to manage the scene and restore the flow of traffic.

A Florida Road Ranger was dispatched to assist with traffic control, scene safety, and the removal of any disabled vehicles or debris. Emergency personnel remained on site as authorities assessed the crash and worked to reopen the affected lanes as quickly and safely as possible.

At this time, officials have not released details regarding the number of vehicles involved or whether anyone sustained injuries. The circumstances leading up to the collision also remain under investigation.

Motorists traveling through Volusia County were advised to expect delays and consider using alternate routes while emergency operations continued. Traffic backups developed in the area as vehicles merged into the remaining open lanes.

Authorities are also reminding drivers to comply with Florida’s Move Over Law, which requires motorists to move over one lane, when it is safe to do so, for stopped emergency, law enforcement, tow, or service vehicles displaying flashing lights. If changing lanes is not possible, drivers should reduce their speed to help protect personnel working along the roadside.

Officials continue to monitor the situation, and additional updates are expected as crews clear the scene and investigators gather more information about the crash.

Drivers are encouraged to check traffic conditions before traveling through the area and use caution when approaching the incident scene until all lanes have been safely reopened.
