Ashley Garibay Obituary: Stockton In-N-Out Manager Identified as Victim Killed in Twin Falls Mass Shooting; Remembered for Her Kindness and Dedication

Family members and friends have identified Ashley Garibay, a 23-year-old In-N-Out employee from Stockton, California, as one of the three victims killed in Saturday’s mass shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Garibay was working at the newly opened Twin Falls location when authorities say 24-year-old Chad Williams entered the restaurant armed with a rifle and opened fire, turning a routine workday into a devastating tragedy that has shaken employees, customers, and communities across multiple states.

The shooting claimed the lives of three people and left seven others injured. Authorities said Williams later died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene. Investigators believe he acted alone, and the motive for the attack remains under investigation.

According to reports, an off-duty Idaho State Police trooper and an armed civilian returned fire during the incident, diverting the gunman from the restaurant. Officials believe their quick actions helped prevent additional casualties.

Garibay was a manager at an In-N-Out restaurant in Stockton before working at the Twin Falls location, which had opened on July 24 as part of the company’s continued expansion into new states. Her family was notified of her death on Sunday evening. Reports indicate that her father, who was in Mexico when the shooting occurred, returned to Stockton on Monday to be with loved ones as they grieved the unimaginable loss.

Those who knew Ashley remember her as a dedicated employee, a caring friend, and a young woman whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her mother, Sabrina Garibay, described Ashley as a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and best friend while sharing a fundraising campaign established to support the family during this difficult time.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder shared an emotional message expressing heartbreak over the loss of one of the company’s associates.

“My heart is broken, my chest is heavy, my eyes burn from the tears I’ve shed. We lost one of our beautiful Associates tonight. She was taking care of our most important asset—our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesn’t value the lives of others or his own.”

Snyder also said the company would stand alongside the victims’ families and continue praying for everyone affected by the tragedy as they navigate an incredibly painful time.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has pledged to assist with a thorough investigation into the shooting as local and state authorities continue reviewing evidence and working to determine what led to the deadly attack.

As the Twin Falls community continues to mourn, tributes have poured in for Ashley Garibay, whose life was cut tragically short while serving customers. Friends, family, and co-workers say her compassion, dedication, and joyful spirit will never be forgotten, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
